ShopJeen

STAFF.

ErinJeen.com was founded in December 2009 by Editor-in-Chief, Erin Yogasundram. While a Freshman in college in Washington D.C., far away from hometown of NYC and the rest of the fashion world, she began the site to create a visual diary of what’s going on in the industry. What started as a small-scale project for herself to “make sure she did her homework” while away in D.C., turned into an immensely popular go-to fashion blog, covering over 70 shows last New York Fashion Week.

THE EIC

Erin Yogasundram

Erin Yogasundram, more commonly identified as @ErinJeen of ERINJEEN.com has had an interest in fashion since her days of interning for Vogue, Bottega Venetta, Catherine Malandrino, Alexander Wang and 3.1 Phillip Lim. With the combination of  her tastes gradually shifting and expanding and moving to D.C. to attend The George Washington University, she needed a way to engage in day-today industry developments as well as curate her own sense of personal style, and so she started ERINJEEN.com, developing a large following. With well over 1000 readers daily, Erin’s blog that started out as a hobby garnered industry attention and grew from receiving a moderate amount of invites during fashion week to nearly 100 this past season with multiple correspondents and being named as one of “The World’s Top Fashion Bloggers Who Aren’t Celebrities (Yet).” She is also a part of the Vogue Influencer Network.

Having developed a well-defined grasp of her own personal style over the years through her work in NY and in a boutique setting, Erin began to wonder in which direction she wished to take her career. She wavered between consignment and owning a high-end boutique, eventually coming to the conclusion that what she enjoyed most were accessories after realizing their significance in defining one’s wardrobe and personal style and decided to focus on that.

The brainchild of of her entrepreneurial mind and the sum of her experiences and personal evolution throughout the years, ShopJeen.com is the next step in Erin’s personal development as well as a place where style meets accessibility for the young and fashion-conscious seeking to better define themselves.

Being as though we’re all on the hunt for internships, I’m sure that some of us don’t have prior experience in the field, however you have to start somewhere..right?:) Although I don’t have any previous jobs/internships in the field would it still be practical for me to apply in a pool where there are probably thousands of others more qualified? What are the makings of a good resume? How did you get your foot into this?
