The gorgeous space was bright and open, and allowed each presentation to really grab the spotlight and showcase the colors and textures.
Four of Korea’s top designers showcased their S/S 2012 collections
OHO, Son Jung Wan, Steve J & Yoni P, and Lie Sang Bong. Juyoung Lee was the only menswear in this collective and showed her Resurrection collection.
Son Jung Wan , who wanted to capture the prismatic qualities of glass, really caught my attention with different shades of blues, metallic golds and silvers, a common theme in the past shows I’ve seen this week so far.
Doho also captured the similar aesthetic of light and described the collection as showing the morning dew and surfaces of water, plentiful with sheer pastel fabrics. The draping and bead work really added to the “ocean” feel and looked like corals in the water. Overall, I was really impressed with the cohesiveness between the five designers and the strong energy that each one was presenting this season. Concept Korea came to New York to progress and impress, and no doubt judging from the response of the fashion crowd , they are definitely doing just that.
