ALICE + OLIVIA F/W 2011 PRESENTATION.

Like Binetti and Norman Ambrose, I immediately thought of the 20s when I looked at the collection. Ruffles, sequins, feathers, flowers, fur cuffs, pearls, lace, and jewels were complimented by The Plaza Hotel 2nd floor natural atmosphere. While the aforementioned presentations evoked the feel of another era, this off-site presentation was enhanced by the baroque air of the environment. The models reclined on furniture, smiled, talked to photographers and each other, sat on pianos, danced on tables, and blended into the environment as if we were guests at a party more so than a presentation. They really appeared to enjoy themselves in their bright colors and shiny stockings, dresses, and suede flair pants as they sipped champagne and lemon drop martinis. The collection was young and classy at the same time with affordable Alice & Olivia brand shoes that were on display, and I’m sure it will be as much fun for girls who are excited for this collection to wear it as it was to be there.
