The Standard Hotel? Ice Skating presentation? Johnny Weir? I could only wonder how all of this was going to come together in the name of fashion. I arrived at The Standard in meatpacking after subwaying it from Lincoln Center. I first noticed that the presentation would be basically open to the public. I managed to get myself indoors and sip on a warm drink while waiting for the presentation. When I saw te crowd congregating around the small rink, I could barely get a glimpse of the ice. Not to mention it was bloody freezing. I was lucky enough to finagle my way to the glass. The models were escorted onto the ice and stood in amazing Alejandro Inglemo heels atop a grip square. Unfortunately, we only got the view of the models’ backs. Then all of a sudden a ton of professional female sisters took the ice and skated around the standing models. Everyone on the ice had Elise Overland fw11 on.
Honestly, we can’t talk much about the clothes because we couldn’t see them. I love the idea and think it is extremely innovative, but I was extremely distracted and had trouble making out exactly where my attention should be. I wish I would have had a better view of the clothes.
I was absolutely freezing so I was not physically able to stay for Johnny Weir’s performance. Sorry guys!
