DENNIS BASSO FALL/WINTER 2010 FASHION SHOW.

Dennis basso, Dennis basso, Dennis basso…If there was going to be one WOW collection that was going to change my life, I would never have suspected it be by you. It was really an interesting story how I got to be at the show…I actually owe this experience to Preen. BPCM denied my request to attend the show. I loved the collection, wrote a review anyway, and sent it over to BPCM. Jessica kindly wrote back a thank you, and offered an invite to the Dennis basso show. Sure, why not, I said. So today at the tents, After leaving Azria, I was ready to check in. My name was not on the list! :( Jessica! I told the lovely aggressive BPCM chicks that Jessica had invited me, and they said Jessica who? (I don’t blame them, I’m sure lots of crashers use the “well *insert generic American name here* invited me!” So I showed them the email, and I was set to go with standing. I even watched them deny a BUNCH of people; funny, because the place was pretty empty…but that’s how BPCM does business and I love them for that. So I’m on the standing line…and everyone is walking in with their lavish fur; I read a tweet that Andre Leon Talley was inside with a nice big animal on his back. I’m fine with fur…although I never particularly like it because I thought it was tacky. But Bryant Park fur is very different.  As I am walking in, my bag gets checked by security! The girl in front of my had fake blood in her bag that got taken away. PETA is among us! Security is going crazyyyy and as I find myself a seat in the 3rd row, I hear the security guard say “keep an eye on that guy over there.” the lights go down and muse comes on and I am excited! So good to hear some mainstream music get mixed for the runway. The pieces were orgasmic, and like I said I’m not even a fur fan. The collection waltzed down the runway. Look after look left the crowd with dropped jaws. I haven’t been to a collection where the audience clapped BEFORE the last look. Then the YEah Yeah Yeahs came on…and I was in heaven. A great crowd, PETA drama and amazing music can make a show 20x better. Then Interpool came on…and then an unknown GaGa song. Heaven. Dennis Basso was heaven. He recieved a standing ovation, well deserved.

  3. I do exactly the same thing. I don’t blame you for not commenting if you think you’re not going to add something new to the discussion.
